My Sister

Lucy Blake McGee

This is my younger sister Blake. I miss her terribly. She and I attended university together for a year, but she has decided to continue her education somewhere closer to home.

She struggled with choosing a major, but has since decided on Nursing. I couldn't be more proud of her.

The Women of WWII Memorial

A Long Time Coming

This memorial was recently put in place to honor the women that served the country proudly.

The memorial has endured some controversy. Some think it portrays women as subservient. Others have a problem with the lack of a female presence in a memorial meant to honour women.

I was shown this during a complimentary walking tour provided by EUSA. Liz, our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She said she understood why people had issue with the monument, but she personally found it fitting.
