A wooded overhanging mass of rock either of the river of whoose water had carved the land out, it seems.
The children enjoyed following the different pathes to us. Everyone also enjoyed crossing the remaining unbroken rope bridge.Quite a few hazel and Beech trees and some ancient yews. They also collected some of the small stones besides the shallow bank which contained a glints of quartz. The river was shallow, the children wished to paddle, alas they could not, sue to the heavy pollution. I can understand the brown water occuring naturally due the tanins contained in the leaf mould etc of the beech trees, but The foam I cannot explain. Lumps of yellowy brown foam floating for miles, getting caught in huge mounds on the banks. The water contained no life that I could see. It was a shame.
