Scattering ashes on the Ridgeway

Lonely tree on Clench Common

Clench Common, ancient ridgeway route, has a commanding view across Hack Pen. It is an amazing place to walk in any weather, especially when the fog is coming down. We scattered my father-in-law's ashes there one cold afternoon. One of his grandchildren played the violin and a kestrel swooped up from the plain.
