SECTION ONE | WHO'S WHO

Family History starts with the basics.
How much do you really know about your own family?

1. Can you give the full names of both of your parents? When and where were they born? Do you have their birth certificates?

2. Can you name your four grandparents? When and where were they born? Do you have any photos?

3. What are/were your parents' main occupations?

4. What are/were your grandparents' main occupations?

5. When and where did your parents and grandparents get married? Do you have any memorabilia from the day?

6. List your mum and dad's sisters and brothers. How much do you know about their lives?

7. What do you think is the meaning of your surname?
[Clue: if you're not sure and have access to the Internet, try searching online!]

8. Find photographs of your family from at least two different decades. How many people can you name in them?

9. Did any of your family ever live abroad? If so, where and when?
[Clue: you can find out more about the history of that country by searching on the Internet]

10. Did any of your family serve in a war? If so, which one and what did they do? Do you have any memorabilia?
