MEMBERS ZONE

As well as creating the people's archive on the main NMB website, Nations' Memorybank also provides a unique 'personal archive' service where you can manage your memories and memorabilia in private by subscribing to the Members Zone.

Subscription costs £60.00 per year and we require payment in advance by credit card.

When you subscribe to the Members Zone, you will enjoy the following benefits:

PRIVATE STORAGE

  • You can upload and manage your memories outside the community site, keeping them safe, secure and private. Furthermore, you can create your own galleries containing selected memories, and invite friends and family to contribute items.
  • Your private homepage within the Members Zone is protected by a unique PIN number, which will be provided to you on subscription. You can share this with friends and family if you want them to add memories to your page - the perfect way to manage and acquire material from relatives living overseas, for example.
  • All memories are archived by our partner Hanzo Archives, using their unique virtual servers to back-up all uploaded items within Nations' Memorybank.
  • Your annual subscription gives you 1GB of storage - sufficient for about 1,000 text or image memory items. You can also purchase additional storage by upgrading to a premium or corporate account. EXCLUSIVE BENEFITS

  • As well as securing private space on Nations' Memorybank, your subscription to the Members Zone entitles you to priority bookings and discounts at a range of events hosted by Nations' Memorybank and our partners, such as lectures and workshops run by experts, and entry to exhibitions and heritage venues.
  • You can also ask our team of experts up to four questions each year, relating to areas of interest that are reflected on the community site. Details of how and when you can take advantage of this unique chance to interact with the experts will be published during your 12-month subscription period.
  • Exclusive articles, editorial and interviews with top historians will also be made available in the Members Zone.

EXCLUSIVE SOFTWARE

  • We will be developing unique Memory Manager software that will be available exclusively for subscribers to the Members Zone. This software is designed to make archiving your memories simple and fun.
  • Coming soon: a memory prompt that you can add to your PC's desktop so you can simply upload information on a daily basis.

The Members Zone Terms

1. These Members Zone Terms are incorporated into the Terms of Use that you agreed to when you registered as a User on the NMB Website and govern your purchase of Members Zone services. These services are provided to you by Firebird Media Limited, 124 Finchley Road, London, NW3 5JS ("we", "us", "our").

2. Unless stated to the contrary, all words and expressions defined in the Terms of Use shall have the same meaning in these Member Zone Terms. In the event of any conflict between these Members Zone Terms and the Terms of Use, these Members Zone Terms shall prevail.

3. Within the Members Zone, Members may upload User Content in a secure environment accessible only to Users or Members with access to your unique PIN number as well as to us and our service providers for site-administration and compliance purposes. Our security measures are designed to ensure an appropriate level of confidentiality for the storage of your User Content in the Members Zone. 4. The current subscription rate to the Members Zone is £60.00 per year. We reserve the right to change this subscription rate upon giving you at least thirty (30) days' notice.

5. We accept payment of the subscription rate by credit card via our Paypal account. Further details of our Paypal account are provided here [insert hyperlink].

6. Subscription to the Members Zone is valid for 12 months. After you have subscribed we will send you a unique PIN number by email so you can gain access to the Members Zone. Please only share your PIN number with those who you wish to gain access to your space in the Members Zone.

7. At least two weeks before the end of the 12-month subscription period, we will email you to remind you that your subscription will shortly lapse. You will be offered a chance to renew your subscription at the existing rate unless we state otherwise.

8. If you do not wish to renew your subscription at this point, you can retrieve your User Content in one of the following ways by notifying us by email:

a. Placing User Content in a PDF file and emailing to you. There is no charge for this service.

b. Removing User Content from the Members Zone and returning it to you on a DVD or CD ROM. You are required to pay a small administrative charge to cover registered postage and materials.

c. Downloading, printing and compiling User Content in one of our presentation packs or publications. Standard rates advertised on the online NMB shop shall apply for this service.

d. Making User Content publicly available on the NMB Website for all Users to see. There is no charge for this service.

9. If your subscription expires and you have not notified us that you want your User Content returned or made publicly available on the NMB Website, your User Content will be held in our archives for a period of six months. Such User Content will not be visible to you, any PIN number holders or other Users of the NMB Website.

10. You will receive an email each month reminding you that you can either request the return of your User Content as outlined in paragraph 8 above, or you can renew your subscription and re-activate your account. If you re-activate your account, you will be given access to your User Content in the Members Zone.

11. At the start of the final month of the six-month period, you will receive an email and a written letter advising you that, unless action is taken, your User Content will be permanently deleted from the Members Zone and the NMB Website.

12. Once we have deleted your User Content, we have no responsibility towards you for the security or integrity of your User Content.

13. You must also provide us with the contact details of a next of kin or third party in the event that we cannot contact you and need to obtain confirmation of one of the options under clause 8 above. [Please complete the online form below with details of your next of kin or third party contact.]

14. Subscribers to the Members Zone are reminded of the provisions in our Terms of Use with regard to offensive or illegal material. We reserve the right to conduct spot checks of User Content hosted within the Members Zone to ensure you are complying with our terms and conditions.

15. Any other services provided through the Members Zone may be subject to additional terms and conditions, which we will notify to you when relevant.
